Duties and Responsibilities
Applications are being accepted to fill two temporary positions at the Conservation Research Center in Columbia, Missouri. Persons will be crew members for the statewide Resource Assessment and Monitoring (RAM) program. Responsibilities include sampling warmwater stream sites located throughout the state; collecting and identifying Missouri fishes; collecting and recording water quality samples and stream habitat data; repairing and maintaining stream sampling equipment; entering data in a computerized database (ACCESS); and performing other duties as required.
HOURS AND PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour starting about 15 May 2023 and ending about 15 September 2023. Dates are flexible to meet school schedules. Applicants should be able to work 40 hours per week. Employment will not exceed 640 hours. Department benefits are not available for these positions.

Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or majoring in Fisheries or Wildlife Sciences, Biological Sciences, or related major; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An interest in fishes and field experience is desirable. Experience with other organisms will be considered.
SPECIAL ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to engage in vigorous physical activity for extended periods in extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions. Ability to travel and stay away from domicile for four days per week during summer months. Ability to swim. Ability to accurately record data. Ability to use a personal computer. Ability to traverse rough terrain. Ability to lift heavy equipment (70 lbs.). Ability to communicate effectively with RAM crew members, landowners, and the public.
