Description
The showy white flowers of this large shrub/small tree are the first to appear in the Missouri woodlands each spring. The reddish, sweet-tasting fruits are edible but are quickly consumed by wildlife as soon as it ripens. Fall color is excellent and is varied from yellow to orange to red. Found statewide, grows best in partial shade along woodland edges. Height at maturity is 25 ft.
