Description

This small shrub, with a spread of 5 to 6 feet, has large, shiny dark-green leaves that turn purple to orange and red in the fall. Flowers are white, with 5 petals, about 1/2 inch across. The purplish/black fruit is about 1/4 inch across and is edible and is best used to make jams or jellies. The juice is very high in Vitamin C and various antioxidants. Does best in full sun or partial shade. Will grow on a wide variety of soils from wet to very dry. Height at maturity is 10 ft.
